The Gaskell Hall was opened in 1931 and is named after Elizabeth Gaskell, the novelist who regularly stayed in the village. This atmospheric hall was originally designed and built for the local amateur dramatics society, the Silverdale Village Players. The Village Players continue to put on two - three productions a year including a Christmas Pantomime.

The Main Hall (theatre style 160 seats) plus Green Room (seats 40) plus large kitchen and small bar/drinks kitchen. Disabled toilet faciltiies plus ladies and gents faciltiies. Full stage with lighting and sound equipment available for hire. Many extras available (see website).
