The Spean Bridge Hotel description
Hotel / Conference Centre
Medium (1-150)
The Spean Bridge Hotel was originally a coaching inn, some say back as far as the 17th century. It has been much extended and altered over the years. When you come into the main reception area you will see one of the original outside stone walls, now an internal wall.
During WWII when the Commandos took over nearby Achnacarry Castle, home of the Camerons, for training, the hotel was used as a local “watering hole” and Commandos past and present still come to enjoy their pint and swop stories. The previous owner, Mr Ferguson brought together a collection of memorabilia of the WWII Commandos and we are proud to continue with that exhibition to include pictures and articles of more modern times.
