The National Centre for Early Music (NCEM) is the national advocate of early music in England and a centre of excellence for music-making in the City of York. The NCEM is an accessible, multi-purpose venue based in the medieval, Grade I listed, converted church of St Margaret’s, and hosts three festivals of early music in Yorkshire, a year-round programme of folk, jazz, early music and world music concerts supported by a significant creative learning programme. NCEM boasts an enviable reputation for blending artistic quality, administrative excellence and creative diversity. The National Centre for Early Music is housed within a Grade-One listed medieval church offering first-class conference facilities in a stunning setting close to the city centre. T

he Church is a flexible space and can be arranged to suit your needs. It has plenty of natural light, is a warm space, soundproof and fully accessible making it a conducive working atmosphere.

Following the completion of a capital project in 2015, the church now boasts high quality sound and audio-visual technology, as well as Wi-Fi access.

The unique setting and versatile space makes the church an excellent choice of venue for conferences, meetings, product launches, functions and events.
