Wolvey Village Hall description
Village Hall / Business Meeting Rooms / Community Hall / Fitness and Dance Centre / Funerals and Wakes / Theatre
Medium (1-150)
Wolvey Village Hall was built as a memorial to local men who lost their lives in the First World War. It was opened in April 1920 and underwent a major refurbishment in 1963. A large main Hall with stage and sprung floor seats up to 130, with a smaller room at the rear which can accommodate 36. There are disabled and baby change facilities, cloakroom, a large kitchen with serving hatches to the main Hall and a pretty garden for sunnier days. It is a multi-purpose Hall which is used by many organisations within the village and is also popular, due to its size and the facilities it has to offer, with outside organisations.
Table Tennis, Bridge Club, T'ai Chi, Pilates, Short Mat Bowls, Brownies, Youth Club and Dog Training are some of the Groups that meet at the Hall and a monthly Social Coffee Morning is held, which is open to all. In addition, it is very popular for dances, parties, wakes, concerts and wedding receptions.
The Management Committee has recently seen an influx of new Members who are putting in place plans to improve and maintain the Hall as required. Anyone interested in joining the Committee will be made very welcome at our meetings held on the third Thursday of each month.
