Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society description
Sports Club - Golf
Medium (1-150)
Founded in 1761, the Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society is the fourth oldest in the world, and enjoys an enviable location in over 150 acres of mature parkland on the north west outskirts of Edinburgh, 3 miles from the city centre, with spectacular views over the Firth of Forth.
The course was originally designed by Willie Park Jnr and later modified by Dr Alistair Mackenzie the architect of Augusta, Cypress Point and Royal Melbourne. Bruntsfield hosted Regional Open Qualifying from 2011-2015, which is a great testament to the course. The grand clubhouse offers excellent dining facilities, famous for their golfers lunches which are often said to be on a par with those at Muirfield and Prestwick.
