Sitting more than 650 feet above sea level and offering panoramic views over Glasgow to the Campsies and the Arran Hills to the west, the course more than lives up to its majestic location.
Founded in 1888 and later redesigned by the acclaimed James Braid, it is the oldest golf course in Glasgow. The 6209-yard, par 71, moorland course is, despite its name, relatively flat but there are some tricky tree-lined holes, such as the par-3 fifth where you must overcome a loch to reach the well-protected green.
