The Prince of Wales, Stoke sub Hamdon description
Pub / Restaurant
Medium (1-150)
It's winter and Ham Hill is getting chillier, the trees are looking bare but it's still so beautiful up here. If you're planning a walk, especially with dogs, you are very welcome to join us afterwards. Our log fire is now going and our winter menus are all locally sourced and carefully prepared. We've recently been awarded a certificate of excellence by Tripadvisor, of which we are very proud.
About our landlords:
Mike and Nicki have been the landlords at The Prince of Wales Ham Hill since October 2006 although Mike has been in the pub trade for more than 30 years.
Nicki says:
''It took us a long time to find this pub but we knew it could fulfil Mike's dream of owning and running a pub as he envisaged it, and that was without a lot of tick boxing and managing it from behind a computer.
"The open spaces were ideal as we have a young daughter and we knew we would end up with dogs, we have two. Bono is a chocolate lab who knows exactly who buys him biscuits and even recognises their cars so he can go and welcome them with his puppy dog eyes. Max is a sprocker who is as mad as a box of frogs. you will hear us on our walks as he barks his way around, hence he carries a ball to muffle the sound!!
"You never tire of the views and we are settled here with Amy in a local school. Mike has his golf, and I have an allotment.
"Dogs are very welcome in the bar. We also provide water troughs and hose outside for dogs and wellies. There are metal rings for dog leads on tables outside and even dog biscuits available at the bar."
