Bruton Unionist Club, Bruton description
Community Hall
Medium (1-150)
Bruton Club, Quaperlake Street was built in 1913 by Six local businessmen on land that had been donated, as they needed a place to discuss their ongoing business ventures.
The club first opened as a Conservative Club for local men from within the local community. In the early 1970's the club expanded with a new bar area and second skittle alley.
In the late 1970's Ladies were first welcomed as club members.
Today the club is no longer affiliated as a Conservative club but is run as a successful social club by a dedicated committee team for its members and is an important social hub for the local community.
Throughout the year we play host to several key events including our renowned Halloween Party, New Years Eve Party to which is supported with our Professional Fireworks Display, Casino Night, Bingo Nights and other various functions.
We also play host to several key music events with our hall being transformed as the host venue for the Bruton Dub Club and their monthly show of talent in the world of reggae and dub, hosted by Lyrical wizard MC extroadinaire Clapper Priest.
Throughout the year we also play host to several other gig nights promoting local bands and talent from within the Somerset area and further afield.
We welcome new club members throughout the year to come and enjoy our facilities. (Please see membership page for more details).
