Townsend Sports Club is a multi-sports sports facility located near the centre of St Albans. Located in a leafy part of St Albans, it is a lovely environment to participate in the sports you enjoy.

The Tennis Section is a thriving club with 8 state-of-the-art courts (3 floodlit), including modern porous acrylic and brand new Euro Clay surfaces. Offering both social and competitive tennis to a high level ensuring everybody gets a game at the level they are comfortable with. Benefiting from a strong coaching team and an active Junior Section, Townsend is one of the best clubs in Hertfordshire.

The Bowls Section continues to play at a high standard with both social play and regular inter-club matches. Their county-standard green is in a beautiful setting and is enhanced by the club's fantastic bar facilities.

Other activities within the sports club include table tennis, cycling, bridge and darts.
Our Modern Clubhouse was built in 2000/2001 and is a fantastic facility benefiting all the sections within the club. The bar is professionally-run and includes a selection of real ales. We have a large hall catering for up to 120 people and a modern kitchen for catering purposes. We also have another room downstairs that is available for meetings, small social gatherings, children's parties, etc.
