Originally built in the mid 1960’s the Centre has been home to a variety of groups and activities. Refurbished in 2009 the Community Centre offers a fantastic venue and facilities.
The Hall is 21m (68ft 10 ins) long by 9.5m (31ft 2ins) wide providing a large airy space for functions and activities. The centre offers the use of 100 chairs and 20 tables in the hall. The Coffee Area is 3.5m (11ft 5ins) wide by 10m (32ft 9ins) long situated next to the kitchen with an adjoining service hatch; it is ideal for serving refreshments at functions or for hosting coffee mornings or afternoon teas. There is also a small committee room which can host 12 to sit for meetings or mini conferences. With ample local parking the Community Centre is the perfect venue for family gatherings, indoor sports events, committee meetings or conferences, workshops, exhibitions or fund raising events.
Abbots Langley Community Centre is a registered charity (302321) and is managed and run by a committee of volunteers who make up the management committee. It is financially self-supporting and mainly houses charitable groups with educational, social or sports interests. In addition the building has and will continue to host public festivals, exhibitions and private parties.
Abbots Langley Community Centre has hosted numerous events over the years notably:
Jig fest ~ a festival of completed jigsaws;
Tough Ten race in October the centre accommodates the catering, changing facilities and prize giving ceremony;
Gardening Society Autumn Show ~ housing all the fantastic entries for this annual event;
Winter Acoustic Concerts and performances by Abbots Langley Orchestra.
