Malvern Cube description
Community Hall
Medium (1-150)
The Malvern Cube is a community centre, run by Malvern Youth & Community Trust, which supports an extensive range of activities, events, training and performances in Malvern. The users range in age from toddlers to the elderly. At our heart is The Cake Tin, which is a social enterprise café. It provides a warm and friendly environment for a coffee, cake and a chat or a more substantial and delicious lunch. Our garden, supported by Transition Malvern Hills, grows vegetables that supply the café.
The youth club 'Tribe' meets here and this has expanded recently with some session attended by 90 teenagers. Young people get involved in drama clubs with Perfect Circle and music recording in Cube Corner Studios. Adults and senior citizens attend an expanding number of events, social activities and exercise classes including the University of the Third Age clubs (U3A). Our diverse regular groups now include Dog Trainers, film go-ers, artists, gardeners, musicians, Irish dancers, a Buddhist meditation group and exercises classes in Yoga, Pilates and Tai Chi.
Bikes can be repaired and maintained by the social enterprise company COG bikes, and the Repair Café meets here monthly to help anyone with repairs to broken household goods. A Malvern Observer journalist works from Malvern Cube each week so why not come in and meet him to share news of local events? Also at The Cube are regular meetings for local businesses, disabled groups and specialist support groups for drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
As you can see our aim is to provide a warm welcome and an inclusive environment for the whole of our community. The Malvern Cube building and facilities are maintained by the Malvern Youth and Community Trust, which is a registered charity.
