The Osprey, Newton Mearns description
Pub / Restaurant
Small (1-50)
Weddings / Meetings / Events
The Osprey in Newton Mearns is a country pub & restaurant oozing rural charm and rustic character. Our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.
In 1891 The Osprey was known as Over Greenlaw Farm and was worked by two sisters, Elizabeth and Mary Smith. By the time of the 1901 census, the farm was owned by a David Anderson, who lived there with his wife and eight children. It is said that the Anderson family had roamed all over southern Scotland before coming to live in the idyllic setting of Greenlaw.
