Auchinleck Indoor Bowling Club has seven bowling rinks in a modern building with enough space to provide a good club environment for bowlers of all ages and capabilities. A friendly but competitive spirit prevails and is encouraged through the club with support given by the experienced bowlers to those joining their sport.
AIBCThe showcase indoor stadium was officially opened by Local Councillor Jean Allan of Cumnock and Doon Valley on 29th August 1980. Tennancy of the club is now held by East Ayrshire Council. In it's first year, the club had around 1500 members from areas ranging from Sanquhar, Dumfriesshire, to Kilmarnock, Ayrshire. Over the years the club has hosted various major bowling events such as National and International Championships, World Singles and World Under 25 Singles. The club has saw visitors from overseas from countries such as Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Isreal and New Zealand, who played at the club prior to the Embassy World Championships in Coatbridge.
BowlsThe Bristol and West Tournament brought bowling stars such as David Bryant, Tony Allcock, Margaret Johnston and John Price to Auchinleck, which confirmed the club's status as an adequate venue for major bowling events.
