Welcome to the Facebook page of Armagh City FC. Currently playing in Belfast Telegraph NIFL Championship 1, City were founded as Milford Everton in 1964 before re-locating to the city itself in 1988. Having progressed from the Mid-Ulster League to the 'B' Division and then the First Division, City won promotion to the Premiership in 2005 after going unbeaten in the IFA Intermediate League. The club's highest ever top flight finish - 11th place - came in the 2006/7 season under manager Gary McKinstry. McKinstry scored in City's only ever Mid-Ulster Cup victory, 3-1 against Newry Town in 2001. Other honours include the Bob Radcliffe Cup in 91/92 and 04/05, the Mid-Ulster Shield in 69/70 and the Mid-Ulster League in 73/74. Long-serving captain Alan Murphy earned the most appearances with 441, while Oliver McGeown's 261 goals puts him at the top of the club's leading goalscorer list.

The club has always featured a strong nucleus of local players, management and volunteers, often with influence from surrounding villages and towns. The McGeowns from Markethill, the Steensons from Killylea, the Grimleys from Armagh highlight the strong local and familial ties to the club across generations.

The club was founded by local school boys in the 1960s, and their support of Everton FC led to the name Milford Everton. Playing at the Holm in Milford, the club decided in the late 1980s that the ground, surrounded on three sides by the Callan River was unsuitable for further progression and the difficult decision was taken to move to Armagh city. Initially the club leased the Mill Field, before opening Holm Park in 1991. Floodlights, terracing and a stand were added ahead of promotion to senior football in 1999, while the most recent development at the ground is the laying of a new 3G surface, to open in September 2013.

The establishment of a youth section at the club just over a decade ago has rejuvenated this local emphasis, while also proving fruitful on the pitch, with impressive talent and coaching resulting in an outstanding victory in the Harry Cavan IFA Youth Cup in 2011/12, and a conveyor belt of players reaching the first team already.
