Construction of the state of the art Neighbourhood Learning Centre (The Log Cabin) was completed in 2009. Representing a structure of breathtaking beauty and functionality the NLC aims to positively engage with the local Community to tackle areas of crime and anti social behaviour through the promotion of educational and sporting opportunities.

The facility is an environmental exemplar with GEO thermal heating, rain water harvest, triple glazed windows and shingling roof tiles. Having a large hall with a fully licensed bar is always an advantage, whilst holding Adult parties and weddings. A fully equipped sixteen seater minibus is available for the public to hire aswell - Please note the Minibus is used during the week for school. Christenings.

In addition to this we have established a strong and positive working relationship with partner organisations like Sure Start & Bridges Into Work, to secure the arrangement of facilities and activities for adults, children and families within the area.

Other initiatives include a successful gardening project in local allotments (including new onsite raised bed for gardens), Work Club provided by Communities 1st, and a “Walking Bus” to the junior/ infant’s school which has built up to 30 children daily.
