The Gateway Centre was officially opened by the HRH Duke of Gloucester on the 2nd October 2002.
The original project was funded by the Dfes & New Opportunities Fund, the Gateway concept was to provide access to the community to ICT training, advice and assessments, and balance those activities with income from commercial activity. By providing a high quality conference and meeting space, the Gateway set out to be a model for sustainability. And that’s exactly what it did…
Accessibilty:
The Gateway Centre is a fully accessible venue with level access to all ground floor Conference Suites and a full sized lift with voice control to all first floor suites. The main entrance to the centre has a gentle slope from the doors to the reception desk. The main front doors are fully automatic and the reception area has a hearing loop system. Adaptive Toilets are situated on the first and ground floors. All internal signage are tactile and all staff have had disability awareness training.
