The Cabarfeidh Hotel is situated in a quiet, mainly residential area. Less than a mile from the centre of the town it’s just a short walk around the corner to the Western Isles Hospital, while Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and most other businesses are within 5 minutes drive. This comfortable four-star hotel is equally enjoyable for pleasure visits to the Outer Hebrides.

Dining is a special pleasure in the highly praised Solas restaurant, where our award winning chef’s Scottish contemporary cuisine accentuates flavours from the best of local produce. The reception lounge, with its cosy open fire is a pleasant area for informal meetings or a drink from the cocktail bar – which has an excellent selection of Scotch malt whiskies.

Outside you’re welcome to relax in the spacious gardens of the Cabarfeidh, cross the road to stroll around the several square miles of wooded parklands and golf course that surround Lews Castle. A fairly gentle stroll from the hotel, Stornoway town centre has a wide range of facilities, including quality independent shops, harbours and a contemporary arts centre, An Lanntair.

From a theatre space to seat 350, to a simple meeting over a pot of coffee, Stornoway’s Cabarfeidh Hotel has a complete range of business meeting rooms.

While we are used to hosting meetings, exhibitions, conferences and trade-shows for local commerce and institutions, we also provide business meeting rooms for many others from the Western Isles and off-island clients. The ballroom also operates well as a sale room for trading functions and has been regularly used by Marks and Spencer, Debenhams and other mainland based retailers.

WEDDINGS

There’s an ambience of character here, that will lend itself to your wedding, family party or social gathering. Adjacent to the hotel, with separate entrance and parking, Cabrfeidh Banqueting’s intimate Oak Suite and the majestic Manor ballroom have both been the subject of recent refurbishment. In particular, white voile room drapes with Harris Tweed trims add a romantic touch style, while the light neutral paint shades complement your custom table designs, room decor colours and photography. The dance floors have been fully re-finished and the atmosphere now has a more airy feel.

Outside, the well-tended lawns, gardens and trees provide a pleasant backdrop for group and individual photography, while several areas within the hotel building offer interesting settings – especially useful on a rainy day.

Whether you’re planning a banquet for 200 – with dancing to a live band, a world clan gathering, or a simple celebration for less than a dozen guests, we can provide the perfect environment.

Under the applicable law, the Cabarfeidh Hotel, gardens and banqueting suits constitute an ‘Approved Place’ for a civil marriage, which means you have the option to hold a marriage ceremony at the hotel, as well as your wedding reception, should you wish.
