The current village hall dates from 1954, when it moved from the old Home Guard hut behind Tubbs Cottage. It was funded entirely by public subscription (costing over £2000) and built by local craftsmen, with village businesses and institutions sponsoring key parts of the build or donating materials.

Subsequent extensions have seen the hall become home to a sub post office and the community shop, and the addition of a committee room, plus improvements to the kitchen facilities and the playground.
In its 60th year, we are drawing up a long-term plan to enable further improvements to the building to ensure it remains a key part of village life.

As well as providing a meeting place for the various village institutions, it currently hosts a monthly auction as well as several weekly exercise classes and club meetings. It is, of course, also available to hire for children’s parties, wedding receptions, exhibitions etc.
