WEDDINGS
In August 2002, the law in Scotland changed to allow civil ceremonies to be performed in appropriate locations. Prior to this, a civil ceremony could only be performed in the registrar’s office. A religious ceremony could, and is still able to be carried out where a minister or priest thinks it is appropriate.
On Friday 2nd August 2002, the first such civil ceremony in Scotland took place in Busta House when registrar Barbra Sandison married Paul Smith & Louise Sinclair.
Since then, many couples have wed at Busta, many traveling from Scotland or England, some from further afield (in 2002, Louise Sinclair was living in Switzerland when her arrangements were made, and in January 2007 Emma Stephenson and Ellis Robertson traveled from New Zealand to wed here on the 6th).
Of course, Busta remains a favourite choice of local brides (and Grooms!) with its romantic history and ambiance.
From 2 to 60, you will find us to be the ideal venue for your service, photography and wedding meal, we are, however, unable to accommodate evening receptions.
The menus and information on the attached pages are to help you form an impression with regard to style and costs. You may well wish to mix and match.
