H.M. Frigate Unicorn description
Commercial Venue
Medium (1-150)
Unicorn is now preserved as a historic ship and visitor attraction in Dundee, Scotland. She is one of the six oldest ships in the world, is Scotland’s only preserved warship and is the most completely original ship in the entire world to have survived from the golden age of sail.
Unicorn is open to the public in her berth in Victoria Dock, Dundee.
The classic sailing frigate was a fast and powerful warship, and was one of the most successful and charismatic ship designs of the age.
UNICORN is a unique survivor from the brief transitional period between the traditional wooden sailing ship andthe revolutionary iron steamship.
Step onboard this historic Warship and travel back in time to the days when Britannia ruled the waves.
Unicorn’s structure is the most original of any of the World’s large historic ships, and it is proposed to preserve the ship out of water and protected from the weather, as if about to be launched. In this guise she could look spectacular with her gilded head-rails and figurehead and her racing-yacht hull on display.
