Altachorvie Island Retreat enjoys a secluded, elevated position in Lamlash on the Isle of Arran. We’re less than 10 minutes drive from the ferry terminal at Brodick. Completely private at the top of our own wooded drive we have a spectacular sea view – one of the best on Arran.

Our mature garden is spread around the Retreat. The lawn slopes towards Lamlash Bay and the panoramic view of Holy Isle and King’s Cross point to the Clyde estuary and the Ayrshire Coast beyond. Our palm trees are testament to our sheltered location.

Now that Altachorvie is under new management it’s the ideal retreat for a romantic break, a wedding or civil partnership, a lavish house party or corporate event. We run exclusive gourmet breaks, music and other events and special interest workshops. Altachorvie Island Retreat is Arran’s exclusive-use venue.

Our 13 luxurious bedrooms all have en-suite facilities. Our decor and furnishings give you the sense that you’re in a discerning friend’s country house rather than “just” another luxury hotel. Relax in front of the real log fire in our amazing sitting room or enjoy our cosy bar where we’re working on our collection of whiskies and gins.

Altachorvie’s menu style is distinctly Scottish. It’s about fun dining with influences from our travels around the world. We like to know where all of our produce comes from and we support Island producers and suppliers whenever we can.

The Isle of Arran’s stunning mountains and glens, sea and forests offer a magnificent backdrop to a relaxed or active break. Together with Altachorvie’s outstanding hospitality we’re sure you’ll want to come back.
