WEDDINGS
Ardtornish offers a unique wedding venue in the West of Scotland. We have been hosting nuptials, large and small, for many years, and have everything you need for a day filled with moments you’ll treasure. What could be more romantic than marrying in one of the best wedding venues in Scotland renowned for its attention to detail, and wedding catering delivered by a range of award winning caterers including the Whitehouse Restaurant, Lochaline tailored to your individual tastes using only the finest ingredients.
Scottish law allows you to marry in Ardtornish House, outside the boathouse, or anywhere else on the estate (within reason!). Or, more conventionally, there’s the lovely Keil Church outside Lochaline (three miles from the house), with magnificent views up and down the Sound of Mull, an important historic Celtic cross, and a famous collection of carved stones.
Further afield is the smaller, more intimate Kingairloch church in a beautiful bay overlooking Loch Linnhe, or the lovely pencil-towered Celtic jewel of a church at Dervaig on Mull. Wedding parties here have used them all.
Following the wedding service, drinks in the drawing room in front of a roaring log fire, dinner in the old billiard room, dining room, or – for up to 120 – in the Great Hall, can be followed by dancing in the Hall. Or we can have a marquee put up for you on the lawn or the drive.
We can help with finding a band or a disco, or both. Many guests choose dancing to a local reel band followed by a disco. And we can see to it that drinks flow for as long as you wish….
Then there’s the honeymoon. Our wedding venue offers quality accommodation for you and your guests. Why not start your married life in the four-poster bed of the house’s master bedroom, stay aboard a yacht moored in the loch before the house, or arrange a sea-plane to carry you away…
