We welcome civil, humanist, religious and interfaith wedding ceremonies at Wedderburn Castle. Your wedding can take place in any of our licensed rooms, outdoors on the castle lawns or at our rustic barn venue in the castle grounds. There are also several historic churches to choose from nearby.
After your wedding ceremony, the reception and wedding photography can be held in the castle grounds, inside the castle or at the barns.
In the castle itself the light, spacious ballroom is a fitting place to hold your wedding ceremony. Up to 90 guests will be comfortably seated, while more intimate parties might choose the elegant stair hall or the drawing room for the ceremony.
For larger parties or for a more rustic ambience, the Wedderburn Barns are licensed for parties of up to 150.
We will, of course, provide you with unlimited practical advice on arranging both your wedding ceremony and reception party. Alternatively our events management staff will be delighted to provide a full wedding planning and co-ordination service.
Receptions.
You can use the castle, the barns or combine the venues on your wedding day or for your party. Drinks receptions for up to 150 can be held at the castle or at the barns. Dinners for up to 86 can be served in the spacious dining room or ballroom at the castle or for larger parties we can accommodate up to 150 at the barns.
Accommodation
We offer accommodation for up to 26 guests in the castle and a further 16 in the luxurious estate cottages. This means that 42 guests can stay on site. We also work in partnership with a local bell-tent supplier meaning that any guests who like the idea of camping can also stay onsite. There are also a selection of other excellent local hotels and B&Bs within a 10 minute drive.
Catering
We have a panel of six approved caterers. Amongst them are specialists in formal banquets, rustic hog roasts, street food and much more. Your caterers will also look after the bar for your party but it is possible to bring your own wine and fizz and have them look after your drinks service.
Entertainment.
As Wedderburn is your exclusive-use 'home away from home' your schedule and choice of entertainments is not limited by the presence of other paying guests. Pipers, bands and any other entertainments are welcomed, and the venues are ideal places for a ceilidh or dance. During the day, outdoor activities including clay pigeon shooting, falconry, hot air ballooning and Highland Games are easily arranged in the grounds of the castle.

A large elegant room in the castle with sparkling chandeliers, a striking marble fireplace, classical columns and seating for up to 90.
It is possible to hold wedding ceremonies, meetings, ceilidhs, wedding receptions, dinners and dances and discos in this space.
Chiavari limewash chairs are included with the rental. It is also possible to set up our circular house tables in this space for dinners or for entertainment requiring cabaret-style seating.

A large, furnished room at the castle with comfortable country-house style sofas, a magnificent marble fireplace, fully tuned grand piano and elegant antique furniture. A perfect place for a drinks reception or relaxing during a stay at the castle.

An elegant room at the castle with capacity for dinner for 86 guests. The room comes with round tables and banquet chairs with neutral-coloured chair covers but a large rectangular table can also be put in place, if required.
There are chandeliers and a large marble fireplace in the room which adds to the atmospheric, opulent feeling of the space.

A rustic space at Wedderburn Barns with flagstone floors, rustic wooden beams and glazed arches creating a light, open room looking on to a pretty courtyard.
The room is suitable for ceremonies for up to 150 and dinners for up to 90. It can also be used for parties, ceilidhs and dances for up to 150.
Three of the glazed arches can be fully opened to create a rustic inside/outside space for guests to flow backwards and forwards between the courtyard and the indoor space. The room is joined to the Provender Barn part of the Barns building.

A spacious barn ajoining the Cartshed at Wedderburn Barns. The barn can seat up to 150 for dinners or be used for dancing, ceildhs and parties.
The atmospheric barn has wooden beams, flagstone floors and wrought iron chandeliers that can be dimmed to create an atmospheric blank canvas to decorate in any style!
