From poorhouse to asylum to science lab to boutique hotel, the building's lived through many guises since 1743. Bursting with character, the exposed brickwork and original features are typical Hotel du Vin, as is al fresco dining in the central courtyard, courtesy of our trademark bistro kitchen. Enjoy a scrumptious afternoon tea, a 'blether' in the bar with a favourite cocktail, a nightcap in the Whisky Snug, or a cigar (and whisky) in the heated Cigar Bothy all within our elegant hotel in Edinburgh. To understand and bring your ideas to life (and make suggestions if needed) and then make it all come together on the big day - from arranging consultations with florists and hair stylists to designing the perfect menu and dressing the room.
Formal or informal, funky or traditional, we'll ensure the food and drink complement your wedding perfectly. What would you like? A five-course wedding breakfast, a casual and informal buffet, a completely bespoke dining menu and wine list specifically created for the occasion by our resident Chef and Sommelier?
The choice is yours, but whatever you decide, come the big day, we'll work diligently behind the scenes to make sure everything runs like clockwork.
We have two private rooms for you to choose from: Bedlam and Burke & Hare.
Bedlam is a stunning, intimate room with access to the courtyard that accommodates one large circular table that sits up to a maximum of 10 people. The focal point of the room is its impressive original domed ceiling.
The Burke & Hare is the largest of our private rooms and among the room's many features is a collection of intriguing and original art which adorns the walls. This is further complemented by a bespoke mural which covers an entire wall. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main street our courtyard is an ideal setting for a canapé and drinks reception of epic proportions and of course, those all important photo opportunities.
WEDDING PACKAGES
We work with you to make your special day just that. We have three packages - Simply du Vin, Celebrate du Vin and I du Vin, all of which offer the same exacting standards of service and quality, and include complimentary menu tasting for the Bride & Groom, room hire, silver cake knife, tea lights, place & menu cards and table plan. Then you can chose the variations on drinks included, style of food served and number of courses. It goes without saying you will have a vast array of Champagnes and wines to choose from. We will of course, also tailor your wedding specifically to you, so no matter the request we will make your dream day come true at Hotel du Vin Edinburgh.

u will have an experienced events organiser to help you prepare, and ensure everything runs smoothly on the day. That way you, your colleagues, and your clients get the very most from your time with us - whether it's teambuilding, networking, an away day, a product launch, training, a drinks reception, seminar or meeting.
Truly individual and inspiring rooms, and a range of flexible packages - all supported with the best audio-visual equipment and free Wi-Fi.
Four stunning meeting and events spaces: the Burke & Hare, Bedlam, Chef's Table and Whisky Snug. The Burke & Hare is the largest of the 2 rooms and among its many features is a collection of intriguing and original art which adorns the walls. This is further complemented by a bespoke mural which covers an entire wall, it can accommodate up to a maximum of 36 people. Bedlam is the smaller of the rooms with access to the courtyard. It benefits from an impressive, original domed ceiling as its focal point and can accommodate up to 12 people. The perfect space for meetings and events.
