Breaking news! We are absolutely delighted to announce that yet again (!!!), Balbirnie has won this year's award for overall "Scottish Wedding Hotel of The Year" at The 2014 Scottish Hotel of the Year Awards (held 27 April 2014), which are the equivalent of The Oscars for our industry.

Our whole team here are simply over the moon and thrilled that all our hard work to make each and every wedding held at Balbirnie so very special, has been so emphatically recognised by our industry peers and past brides and grooms alike.

This follows on from our truly amazing awards success over the last three years at Balbirnie, in which we have won Scottish Wedding Hotel of The Year for 2012, 2013, and now again for 2014! Three years in a row - what an achievement and one we are incredibly proud of here!

Rather incredibly, that is now 8 times in the last 10 years that Balbirnie has been awarded one of the biggest wedding awards of the year - a quite magnificent feat which of course is set against the competition from every relevant competitor venue in the country, as such to say the very least we are very humbled and proud to be the recipients once again.

Balbirnie is a magificent Scottish wedding venue which provides the ideal country house setting for your special day. This award-winning 4 red star small luxury hotel is recognized as one of the finest wedding venues in Britain, and is superbly located within a 400 acre parkland setting equi-distant between Edinburgh and St. Andrews.

The venue can accommodate up to 216 guests for a wedding banquet and 250 for an evening reception.

ACCOMMODATION

We have 31 lovely bedrooms at Balbirnie, plus one self-contatined Triplex apartment. All rooms are contained within this Grade A listed Georgian mansion, each is a fabulous blend of period style and modern amenities. We can offer a choice of suites with separate sitting rooms, deluxe rooms with king size double or twin beds, classic double or twin rooms and doubles for single occupancy. All rooms are equipped as standard with a range of amenities. Our rooms are located over the three floors of the original mansion house, with a number of rooms on the ground floor for guests who would prefer not to take the staircase. We also have one ground floor twin bedded room with wheelchair access.

Our super new Triplex apartment is a wonderful new addition to our accommodation. The Triplex has 3 self-contained bedrooms within the apartment, perfect for up to 6 adults and 2 children if required. This area is decorated in a contemporary style, with soft Scottish furnishings. The Triplex is designed to be used only in entirety, with a shared entrance and sitting room area:
> On the Upper Floor - sitting room area with SKY TV, ensuite WC, with stair access down to the lower level
> On the Lower Floor - 3 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin, and 1 further twin with additional children’s bunk beds
> On the Lower Floor - 2 bathrooms: one with shower, and one with bath and shower
