Weddings

We love weddings big, small & very wee. We can host your wonderful wedding for upto a hundred guests (many more with a marquee) or a smaller intimate gathering of family & friends staying as a houseparty or for just the two of you wanting to escape!

With exclusive use sleeping twelve guests in the house & six guests in the cottage, Crear becomes your home from home for three days. In the centre of Crear house, the main studio is larger than a tennis court - the perfect party venue & blank canvas for creatives. Lit by a continuous glass wall overlooking the Paps of Jura & with underfloor heating it is warm & welcoming in every season.


Three days & nights of wedding celebrations!
We suggest arriving the day before your wedding & host an informal supper for close family and friends. Your wedding ceremony is usually the following day followed by your reception & a party to end all parties.

As a guide if your entire celebration is inside Crear, then we suggest that the maximum number of guests is 70. If you marry in church or have a marquee or equivalent, then 100 plus guests fit comfortably in. The following day host a post party beach picnic with a bonfire, buffet or barbecue where you are welcome to invite additional guests. 
The final evening enjoy a party for everyone or simply chill out & enjoy the first night as a wedded couple in this beautiful place.

Your Crear Wedding Style
With the clean & simple Crear style, you need add almost nothing - the view to the isles is more than enough, however the blank canvas allows your imagination to run wild! We all love that each couple decorates the house & studio in their own individual way. We are also bursting with ideas & suggestions to inspire you.

The Crear estate offers you 200 private acres to pitch your marquee or stretch tent, yurt or tipee, bouncy castle & fairground carousel, host a clay pigeon shoot, football match, a sandcastle contest & treasure hunt. No idea is too crazy & we promise we will try to accommodate all your requests! Your actual wedding ceremony and reception party can be as formal or laid back as you would like & we will ensure it all runs smoothly on the day.

Crear Wedding Ceremonies & Celebrants
Crear extends to nearly 200 acres surrounding the house which are yours exclusively, so you can decide where & when to marry, making your final plans on the day if they are weather dependent. A vehicle track to the beach allows access for everyone.

Humanist Weddings are legal in Scotland. South Knapdale Parish Church at Achahoish and St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Lochgilphead are very welcoming to those out with the Parish.

Crear Wedding arrivals & departures
Your journey here from Glasgow is one of the most beautiful road trips in the world & all part of the experience for your guests to enjoy. Our Crear Wedding map shows places to visit along the way.

Our Crear wedding guests usually arrive on Monday & leave on Thursday and have their celebration on the Tuesday or Wednesday. Or they arrive on Friday and leave on Monday.

For the larger weddings, West Coast Motors will run your wedding bus ensuring all your guests have a safe journey home at the end of the night.

Planning your Crear Wedding
Planning your wedding should be fun & exciting & not take over your life! The whole Crear team are on hand to ensure that the months & weeks & days running up to your arrival are as stressfree as they can possibly be. We have hosted hundreds of weddings with many guests planning everything from overseas so you can be sure that nothing is forgotten.
