Welcome to Hafton Castle - Dunoon, Argyll, Scotland - The ideal wedding venue!
Accommodation: 19 bedrooms all with en-suite shower –
(9 double-bedded, 5 twin-bedded, 1 single, 3 double-bedded rooms with additional beds and 1 double-bedded room with 2 additional beds)
Sleeps up to a maximum of 42 people, minimum length of stay 2 nights

Hafton Castle is a magnificent Scottish building with views across Holy Loch, set in delightful gardens. The scottish castle also boasts a large indoor heated swimming pool.
The Castle is a superb house with its wonderful indoor pool, billiard room, library, dining room, superb reception hall, small drawing room, opening onto large drawing room with a bar area, spacious conservatory and plenty of outdoor space with terrace and gardens, in fact plenty of space for the large number of people it sleeps. The splendid reception hall has plenty of seats, a wood-burner and a grand piano. The Castle was built by James Hunter, and its architect was David Hamilton who also designed Dunoon Castle.
The bedrooms are comfortable and all have en-suite showers. The building has some magnificent features, beautiful ceilings, carved doors and a superb staircase.
Hafton Castle is available for exclusive hire. It is the perfect venue for weddings, reunions, corporate events, birthday parties, all sorts of gatherings. Ideal for art or music holidays, tuition can be arranged for groups Arrangements can be made with local caterers, or functions can be self catered if preferred.
Hafton Castle is ideally situated on the Cowal Peninsula, the surrounding area is incredibly beautiful and the Castle is very accessible as it can be reached from Glasgow Airport in only 45 minutes by road. Most guests will arrive via the car ferry operated by Western Ferries from Gourock which crosses the Firth of Clyde, a very romantic and atmospheric start to their stay at Hafton Castle.
WEDDINGS
Hafton Castle, Hunter's Quay, Dunoon is the perfect location for an intimate family wedding.
Hafton Castle and its grounds are licensed for civil wedding ceremonies.
At Hafton Castle we have a very flexible approach to the hiring of the Castle. It is possible to book the castle for exclusive use for a week or for 2 to 3 nights. Many of our wedding parties choose to extend the occasion of their wedding and enjoy the company of friends and family beyond the day itself.
The Castle has 19 en-suite rooms and can sleep up to 42 persons. It has numerous public rooms, including a large reception hall with a grand piano and views through to the sweeping staircase, the perfect setting for a wedding ceremony.
There is a large heated indoor swimming pool and the gardens and surroundings are idyllic for wedding photographs.
Hafton Castle can accommodate up to 65 guests for a sit-down meal, if a larger wedding is your choice there is plenty of room to erect a marquee in the gardens and we can suggest local marquee hire companies.
We will recommend local caterers, florists, musicians, hairdressers, taxis etc and put you in touch with local ministers and Humanist Ordinants, (Scotland is one of only six countries where couples can be married by a Humanist Ordinant at a venue of their choice and the marriage is legally recognised throughout the world in the same way as a civil ceremony).
We are licensed at Hafton, both in the castle and the grounds for civil wedding ceremonies.
If you are holding your wedding and reception in the castle and intend to have more than 42 persons, up to the maximum number of 65 guests, we do charge a £12.50 per head facilitation charge.
The castle has excellent catering kitchens giving wedding parties the option of catering for the wedding themselves.
At Hafton all aspects of your special day are under your control, although we are very happy to help at every step along the way, as much, or as little as you would like.
