For almost 300 years Segedunum, which means ‘strong fort’, was home to 600 Roman soldiers. Today Segedunum is once again the gateway to this World Heritage site.

Segedunum houses an attractive, self-contained function suite, with modern facilities and easy access to the fort.
The Daniels Room is a flexible space, popular for training sessions and workshops. It also has an attached syndicate room, ideal for use as a breakout space or for catering.

The Corder Room is ideal for board meetings, interviews or away days, and has the advantage of some remarkable views of the Fort and River Tyne.

The centre of the Roman gallery is remodelled on the courtyard of the original Fort's headquarters building. It contains a superbly detailed model of Segedunum, a reconstruction of a cavalry barrack, and interactive displays. This wonderful gallery offers a unique backdrop for a variety of evening events such as drinks receptions or dinners.

The 35m high viewing tower gives stunning views of the excavated Fort and the surrounding area and can be hired for smaller evening bookings, or as part of a whole museum hire.
