There are a variety of rooms available for hire at The Civic, ranging from rooms accommodating 12, to our largest, accommodating 600 guests. Additionally, The Civic is able to host exhibitions,conferences and weddings as well as providing quality entertainment with events such as concerts, shows and top comedy nights. Our experienced and friendly team is dedicated to ensuring that your event or occasion exceeds all expectations.
As you will see from the photographs throughout this site, The Civic is modern in appearance, with light and spacious rooms throughout the venue. Approaching our main entrance via the beautiful town park’s avenue of trees (our own ‘Champs-Elysées’) you cannot help but notice our large glazed balcony overhead. Our foyer area is a light and open space with a well-equipped bar, ready to serve your function, should you require. A member of our friendly Civic team will greet you on arrival and show you to your hired room, as well as discussing with you the final arrangements for your function.

Our newly refurbished Usher Suite is bright and airy and gives the ultimate in flexibility. Use it a space for a large function, meeting, team-building, conference or celebration. The room can also be divided into two rooms with our bi-folding wall.

Our Council Chamber is light and airy, with stunning floor to ceiling windows and a combination of crisp white walls and cherry wood panelling.
The Council Chamber is situated on the first floor of The Civic, with doors opening onto a balcony where you can enjoy drinks and nibbles, overlooking the surrounding parkland.
The room provides perfect acoustics for music recitals, but is also equally adaptable for a corporate team meeting or an elegant wedding breakfast.
Adjacent to the Pitman Committee Room, with an adjoining door, the two rooms can be hired together if more space is required or a break out room is needed.

Located on our first floor, the Pitman Committee Room room is perfect for boardroom meeting or a break-out area.
Traditional in its feel, it provides the perfect setting for a business meeting, presentation or interview, with its wooden furniture and traditional Grandfather Clock.
Adjacent to The Council Chamber and with the convenience of an adjoining door, if you need a larger space why not hire both areas and flow between the two.
