On 19 July 2013 we closed our doors and welcomed our project teams on site to begin work transforming our flagship building IET London: Savoy Place with an extensive £30 million, two year refurbishment. We are scheduled to re-open in Autumn 2015.

About the refurbishment project

Our first major structural reconfiguration of facilities and services in 30 years will see a significant enhancement in capacities, connectivity and feel of the event spaces. We will be reconfiguring floor space to maximise the views of the Thames, increasing our Riverside suite by 50%, building a brand new lecture theatre and much more…

The refurbishment project will preserve the building’s heritage whilst providing a number of important benefits to IET members for years to come.

IET member facilities are now temporarily co-located within the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) headquarters at One Birdcage Walk in Westminster.
