Welcome to Imber Court.

Imber Court was purchased by the Metropolitan Police in 1920 for the purpose of training horses and in 1921 the rest of the estate was donated to the Met. for sport and recreation and there is a deed of covenant still in existence to that effect. The building was originally called Ember Court but the name was misheard by a member of the Council and recorded as Imber Court.

Following the purchase, police officers donated money and time to turn the land from meadows into sports fields. In 1926 money was also given by the National Sports Fund, a charity formed from donations received from the Times newspaper in recognition of the work of police officers during the General Strike. These funds were used to help build a pavilion which is now known as the Clubhouse.

The Club was officially opened on 11th June 1929 by H.R.H. Prince George, who later became King.

Over the past 90 years, the Club has been a place for Metropolitan Police Officers and their families to enjoy the Clubhouse, sports facilities, 90 acres of prime park land as well as numerous social events throughout the year.

Imber Court has now opened its doors to external business and sports teams and offers top quality sports playing fields as well as excellent conference and meeting facilities.
For pleasure, we offer an ideal venue for all social occasions such as weddings, birthday parties, christenings, charity fundraisers and end of season dinners.
