Edgbaston Events unveil Safe Meetings & Events Promise

Edgbaston Stadium’s events team have revealed its Safe Meetings & Events Promise to existing and prospective clients who plan to stage meetings, conferences and events when the venue reopens from Monday 6 July.

To support this, we’ve created a six-point plan that has been designed to provide greater reassurance to all delegates in response to COVID-19.

- Space and Social Distancing – all rooms having outdoor spaces, the introduction of strict social distancing measures and clear signage and guidance around the venue.
- Hygiene and Cleanliness – new and improved cleaning procedures and providing a high level of hand sanitiser dispensers.
- Contact Free Catering – pre-packaged food and drink prepared on-site with increased safety and maintaining Edgbaston’s outstanding range of fresh produce.
- Enhanced Technology – increased options for clients, including video conferencing, live streaming and virtual tours.
- Staff Fully Trained – all staff working to new operational procedures and have PPE tailored to their role.
- Communication – regular updates from our events team throughout the planning process.

Maria Jones, Head of Conference & Events Sales at Edgbaston Events, said: “Our 6 July reopening date is something that we’ve been working towards throughout this lockdown period, and these new working plans have been developed following close consultation with our established clients, our partners within Compass Group, Lime Venues Portfolio and Levy Restaurants, and our technology partner PTI.

“We pride ourselves as being a business that regularly innovates and constantly assesses new market opportunities. As a result of this process, our suppliers are providing new technology to meet the changing needs of our clients who wish to stage hybrid or virtual events.”

Our events teams are now taking bookings for any meeting or event from Monday 6 July, subject to our updated room capacities which follow the UK Government’s guidance on 2m social distancing.

Our versatile, multi-function spaces can accommodate anything from 10 to 800 people, making Edgbaston a perfect venue for an assortment of events from an intimate meeting to a large exhibition. With the majority of spaces at Edgbaston boasting panoramic view of the iconic cricket pitch, your attendees will be able to experience an event like never before.

Our catering at Edgbaston is something that we are very proud of and are constantly striving to provide the best quality in both food and service. Our award-winning Executive Head Chef and his talented team have been able to construct menus that balance sublime flavours whilst understanding the type of food required for each event.

At Edgbaston, we have great access from Birmingham city centre and surrounding areas, with well-connected major road networks and pubic transport routes. If you are driving, free car parking is available on-site.

Our Executive Boxes provide the perfect space for intimate meetings, small presentations and syndicate rooms. Situated on the third floor in the new stand, four boxes encapsulate the pinnacle of luxury and exclusivity with bi-folding doors and access to a private balcony offering stunning views over our world-class cricket pitch.

Catering can be served directly to your Box or in the executive lounge. This lounge is situated right outside the Boxes and is for exclusive use for the 4 meetings rooms. The Executive Lounge can also be used for a breakout area, a quite zone or drinks reception.

Our versatile Exhibition Hall is conveniently located in the ground floor adjacent to the main reception. This blank canvas space is very adaptable to any exhibition or vent requirements to suit out customer needs. This facility is the largest at Edgbaston and is ideal for large events with 3 roller shutter doors for easy access for set up and dismantle.

The vast depth and enormous capacity allows organisers space to build in any visual surprises and can be transformed to accommodate exhibitions, conferences, sporting events and concerts. Over the last few years we have seen the Exhibition Hall transformed into themed Christmas parties, catwalk shows, wedding fairs, local and national awards dinners and a range of unique events, including Horror Conventions and White-Collar Boxing.

The Banqueting Suite is highly versatile and hosts larger conferences, award dinners, graduation balls and weddings. The ability the suite has to be split into three sperate areas (all with built-in bars) provides organisers with the adaptability to accommodate a variety of events. It is one of the largest spaces at Edgbaston which has its own private balcony and offers spectacular views across the iconic stadium and Birmingham skyline.

The suite offers magnificent views of the pitch with an abundance of natural daylight, ensuring that the suite is an ideal setting for a variety of events. The suite is an excellent choice for a conference and being able to seat 660 people also makes it an excellent option for banqueting and other dinner events.

Named after West Indies legend Brian Lara's record-breaking unbeaten 501 for Warwickshire in 1994, the new 501* suite brings a new sophisticated, stylish and modern appeal to the facilities at Edgbaston.

The innovative design of the room encapsulates Lara's achievement with a tiled wall providing a ball-by-ball account of the innings and a plaque to greet you upon entering, dedicated to the events at Edgbaston on 6 June, 1994.

Based on the 1st floor of the South Stand, the facility captures the iconic pitch perfectly with a large glass fronted view. With an informal feel and dedicated bar, this new contemporary space is ideal for networking events, break-out sessions, drinks receptions or buffet-style dining and can accomodate for up to 170 people.
