Are you looking for a fully-accessible city centre venue?

Rooms at the Quaker Meeting House are available for hire to groups and individuals. We welcome a wide variety of social, religious and charity organisations, as well as private and commercial customers.

The building is in the centre of Chester, close to the Cathedral, within easy reach of public transport, the Park & Ride service and car parking. It is a purpose-built facility offering several room sizes and services to suit a variety of meetings and events. We have worked in partnership with the Access Team at Cheshire West and Chester City Council to provide a venue fully accessible for all individuals.

The Meeting House has four rooms which accommodate from 2 to 80 people. We also offer the following:- wheelchair access to every room; toilet facilities, including a fully accessible toilet; baby-changing facilities; a lift to the first floor; hearing aid loops in all rooms.

Rooms are available every day from 9am to 9:30pm. Bookings are made per session (morning, afternoon, evening) and prices are charged per session, regardless of length. Prices per session start at £21.

Hire of rooms includes use of the kitchen, which is fully equipped to provide drinks and light refreshments for groups of up to 80. We can also provide equipment such as flip chart, overhead projector with screen, DVD player with monitor, or laptop computer with data projector.

Our largest room and recently refurbished, capable of holding up to 80 people seated theatre style and of accommodating a wide variety of activities from formal and informal meetings to meditation.

Presentations and training sessions are well catered for, with plain white walls providing flexible and effective projection space and a multitude of electrical sockets ensuring that the room can be configured to suit almost any layout requirements.

Ceiling and skylights can be blacked out on bright days, whilst ventilation is provided by opening skylights and two large remote controlled ceiling fans.

If extra space is required, the sliding doors at the rear open onto the library area which can be used for additional seating, the provision of refreshments or a buffet lunch.

Connecting double doors allow access to Room 1 as a breakout room or to make a combined flexible space.

One of our most popular and competitively priced rooms, equally suited to meetings or small exercise classes and conveniently situated next to our main kitchen. This room has opening skylights which can be blacked out if necessary, while a retractable screen provides for presentations. Connecting double doors allow access to both the Large Meeting Room and to Room 2, meaning adjoining rooms can be used for breakout activities or as a combined flexible space.

Smaller and more private with access to the roof garden, this room is ideal for small meetings, presentations, training sessions or meditation groups. Its windows open onto the roof garden, whilst an opening skylight provides additional natural lighting and ventilation, and can be blacked out if required. The room also features a whiteboard and retractable screen for presentations or training sessions. Connecting double doors allow access to Room 1, enabling either room to be used for breakout activities or to create a combined flexible space.

Its windows open onto the roof garden, whilst a whiteboard, retractable screen and window blinds make it well suited for presentations and training. Being self-contained, with no connecting access to other rooms makes it popular with groups requiring a little extra seclusion for activities like meditation, therapy, or just something a little more boisterous.
