The perfect setting for your wedding…
Thank you for your interest in Cley Windmill for your wedding or civil ceremony.

Ceremonies take place in our beautiful round Sitting Room for which we hold the wedding licence. We aim to gear the entire day around exactly what you want – some people prefer a small and informal affair, others like something slightly larger and more formal.
Please note that our licence only allows us to have 22 people including the bride and groom in the ceremony room.

If you would just like to enjoy the unique experience of having your ceremony in a Windmill, but are planning a larger reception elsewhere, we are very happy to accommodate this. We would ask that you organise the ceremony for 2.00pm and you have the use of the Sitting Room and the Reception Room from 1.30pm – 4.30pm.

wedding-brochureThis gives you time after the ceremony to enjoy a glass of champagne and canapés which will be served in the Windmill Dining Room and to take photographs. You are welcome to use the balcony or the garden for these (weather permitting!). If you would like tea or even a Norfolk Cream Tea again we would be happy to do this. There is also a possibility that we may be able to organise a Wedding Breakfast dependent on the time of year and our diary commitments.

If, however, you would like to take over the Windmill and make a real occasion of it you can either book all our b&b rooms (which accommodate 16) or include our self catering cottage and take your numbers to 18 or 20. In this case, your wedding would take place at the later time of 4pm and then go on to dine in our atmospheric candlelit Dining Room at, say, 6.00pm.

Why not book the entire windmill?

We now offer the opportunity to hire the entire windmill for exclusive days or weeks at a time. This is a unique and memorable way to entertain your friends and family. The windmill can sleep up to 20 in 9 rooms on a B&B basis. Evening meals and lunches are also available.

Cley Windmill is renowned for its stunning location within the marshes of the North Norfolk Coast. We offer an intimate space for your group event or party, where your friends and family can celebrate together, whether it be a special birthday, a Golden Wedding Anniversary or a reunion.

If you would like to take over the windmill you can either book all our B&B rooms (which accommodate 16) or include our self catering cottage (Dovecote) and take your numbers to 18 or 20.
