Ridgmont Country House description
Commercial Venue
Medium (1-150)
Set in five acres of private grounds, with mature trees and lawns, Ridgmont House is a charming country retreat with a great sense of history.
Ridgmont House was built In the early 17th Century by the Pilkington family who were landowners from Rivington. It was originally called The White House until 1801 when Joseph Ridgway J.P., D.L. of Lancashire bought and extended the house to its present size. Joseph Ridgway owned the bleachworks on the opposite side of Chorley Old Road.
He also had constructed an 'Ice House' one of only two Ice Houses in Lancashire.
Due to the size and flexibility of the building Ridgmont House is currently one of the most sought after locations for wedding, christening, dinner, special occasion, funeral and conference venues in Bolton. The present occupiers mix a balance of old and new which is complimented with excellent cuisine and superb service.
We are proud to be one of the most unique wedding venues in Bolton, Lancashire, combining elegant surroundings, delicious food and impeccable service in a historic setting.
The decor is light and classy, creating a perfect backdrop for any colour scheme. The imposing entrance hall is decorated with wall paintings of lilies, by a local artist, and orchids and poppies provide a splash of colour behind the discreetly positioned bar. The Ridgway Suite will hold up to 160 people for a buffet, and 120 seated. It opens onto a patio area, constructed from traditional flagstones. A splendid staircase leads to the upper floor, where the Willoughby Suite continues the light and elegant theme. This room has six windows on two walls and an impressive bay on the third, making a light and airy setting for a function. Comfortably accommodating up to 80. Chandeliers throughout the building add that touch of class.
Dinner dances for up to 130, ladies evenings and executive seminars where up to 120 can meet. There is also provision for presentations, excellent catering - and the use of the refreshing gardens.
