Whether it is a concert, workshop, business meeting or birthday party, our experienced staff can help you plan and deliver the perfect event.
Trestle Arts Base is a 100-year-old chapel, beautifully converted into a unique performing arts centre. Situated in the tranquil setting of Highfield Park, just five minutes from St Albans city centre by car, this unique venue offers fantastic facilities for all occasions.
Since 2002, Trestle Theatre Company has run Trestle Arts Base as a fully operational arts centre; we can offer technical support, insight and advice to help ensure that your function is everything you imagined.
The spaces we offer:
The Theatre: our black box theatre is the perfect blank canvas, which can be themed for your event. This flexible space is licensed for up to 125 people (subject to configuration) and is fully equipped with state of the art sound and lighting equipment.
The Apex: a stunning space featuring the Chapel’s original arched window and a partial glass floor decorated with the architectural plans of the building. Whether you need space for VIP guests, a cocktail bar or a play area for children, this vibrant space can be easily adapted.
Gallery Café and Bar: a versatile space ideal for welcoming your guests and providing drinks, food and seating for up to 40 people.
The Studio: a bright attractive space with a sprung dance floor, a mirrored wall, and a powerful sound system. Ideal as a play area for children, for storing gifts and surprises or for use as a preparation room.
Catering:
Trestle Arts Base can provide a high-quality in-house catering service for up to 40 delegates. If, however, you prefer to supply your own outside caterer we are happy to work with them to make your event run smoothly. Please be aware that as we run a professional café we do not have kitchen facilities but most caterers can easily work around this.
