At the age of just 18, Simon and Julie met on the first day of University. Thirty four years later and with three children in tow (Siobhan, 30, Thomas, 28 and Oliver, 22), we are the very proud and loving owners of The Ash Barton estate.

Simon previously spent 30 years at Haymarket Media Group which means the house is always stacked with glossy mags. Julie has been a teacher of children with special needs for the last 25 years.

We bought Ash Barton in 2009 after months of searching for a ‘cottage’ in North Devon. Julie had spent her childhood summers in nearby Combe Martin where her Grandad was the milkman, and it was always her dream to have a place of her own here.

Instead of the rush and bustle of a single day which is all pressure and all over too soon. Ash Barton couples spend 3 or 4 days sharing this beautiful space with their loved ones. Culminating in the most memorable special day. A total DIY wedding with not a "Hotel plastic package" in sight.
