Thorn sits on the south-east facing banks of the River Yealm in South Devon, approximately 6 miles south east of Plymouth. This historical garden boasts wonderful views and holds a stunning selection of unusual trees and plants.

'Thorn House & Garden' offers a wonderful venue for corporate events including weddings, garden parties, etc. The garden is open to the public by appointment and can be guided by the enthusiastic current owner, Eva Gibson, in English or German. A private B&B is also available in the main house offering accommodation up to 6 guests.

Weddings at Thorn run throughout the year and the venue (Orangery and Garden) is exclusively yours for the event. Although this venue is not licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies, we can hold a blessing for you or alternatively we can recommend many beautiful local churches, including the idyllic church at Wembury; situated overlooking the beach. Thorn is a truly exclusive location and we limit our larger (>30 people) weddings to six per year. We are very passionate about giving couples as much flexibility as they can when it comes to their day and our wedding co-ordinator is on-hand throughout from your private viewing to the big day to offer as much advice and assistance as you should need.
