The George Albert Hotel is a private, family owned hotel located in the rolling Dorset countryside. Offering all the modern facilities you would expect from a new hotel, it still retains a distinctive friendly atmosphere.
Situated on the A37, between the county towns of Yeovil and Dorchester. The air conditioned, purpose built hotel opened in 2010 and was designed and equipped to fulfil a variety of purposes. These not only include providing quality accommodation with 39 beautiful en-suite bedrooms, but also to be an ideal venue to hold wedding functions, business meetings, corporate events and conferences.
Olympic Gold Medailist shooter Peter Wilson presents AA Rosette award
During 2013, the Hotel was awarded a prestigous AA Rosette, an award that the whole team at the George Albert Hotel are very proud of. The AA quote the following: "Of all the restaurants across the UK, approximately 10% are of a standard which is worthy of 1 Rosette and above. This is indeed a huge achievement and something not to be underestimated." General Manager Jason Hambleton said "we've been improving for the past 2 years, and trying to earn this honour. A lot of hard work went into securing this and everyone here is delighted."
The Rosette winning team with owners Barry and Michele CrookJason also said "Peter Wilson trains very nearby to us and has watched us develop into the place we are today." "We had a small do and enjoyed Champagne and Canapes made by Head Chef Andy Pike, without whom the award would not have been won. The next step is trying to get 2 Rosettes." Picture Shows (L - R) GM Jason Hambleton, Head Chef Andy Pike, Gold Medalist Peter Wilson, and Owners Michele and Barry Crook. Please click for larger image.

The Wedding Breakfast
Traditionally, the bride and groom partake in a meal with their family and friends known as the wedding breakfast. This is usually followed by toasts and speeches by the father of the bride, the groom and the best man. In more recent times, it has become quite common for the bride to make a speech as well.
At the George Albert hotel we can accommodate you in our Elizabethan Suite for both the wedding breakfast and the evening reception.
Evening Reception
The evening reception for weddings has become a long standing popular way of having many more friends and family celebrate your wedding with you. With limits on sit down numbers, it is nice to be able to invite those people who were unable to join the day, to celebrate with a little food, a little drink and a little dancing…
Overnight Accommodation
We would be delighted to host the bride and groom as well as some of their guests. If you have your wedding breakfast and evening reception at hotel we offer the bride and groom complimentary accommodation. For guests we are more than happy to offer a preferred rate (subject to availability). If you have had guests join you overnight, perhaps you would like to dine together at breakfast? We can arrange this all for you before the wedding, what better way to spend the morning than with your friends and family?
