The Yurts are tucked away in a stunning natural setting with abundant wildlife yet easily accessible by road and rail (direct train from Waterloo to Crewkerne). All this and an award winning Gastro pub within walking distance… all you have to do is relax!

A Truly Magical PlaceEach yurt is south facing so that you can make the most of the sunlight. Later on you can sit and watch the sun set from your personal yurt decking, across open fields and woodlands. The only view from your yurt is nature with buzzards circling overhead, a shy herd of deer grazing in the mornings, with pheasants and badgers wandering out of the woods. It is a magical place to truly unwind and get away from the stresses of working life.

The Yurt Retreat is part of an organic working dairy farm. It is run by the third generation and the family have been farming the same land since 1955. First starting with two 5* holiday cottages the family felt that they wanted to create something that would allow visitors to really connect with the stunning landscape. After staying in yurts on holiday themselves, they were taken aback by the beauty of the structure and the incredible feeling of peace and tranquility that the space created… and so the yurt retreat was born.

There are direct trains to Exeter and London Waterloo from the local station, which is only an 8 minute drive away.

If you feel like you want to experience more of country life, in the next village of Hinton St George (easily accessible by bike or on foot down country lanes), you will find the Lord Poulett Arms, which won the National dining pub of the year in 2009. With flagstone floors, low beams and open fires, it ticks every box for a comfortable country pub.
