Cross Hands Hotel description
Hotel / Conference Centre
Medium (1-150)
Recently refurbished, The Cross Hands Hotel is a charming old posting house dating from the 14th century and is popular nowadays with country lovers, horseracing fans, golfers, couples and our own dear Queen, who sought shelter here during a blizzard in 1981. Those who like a bit of spooky history might like to know that the cellars were once used to house convicted criminals, sentenced to death by ‘Bloody Judge’ Jeffreys.
