Tunstall Village Hall description

Village Hall

Medium (1-150)

There have been two historical books written directly about the village. One in 1937 by Arthur Midwinter, a previous rector of Tunstall church, called The Church
and Village of Tunstall, Kent. This book was reprinted in 1992 by the Church Wardens to raise funds to build the Midwinter Room on the back of the church – a room which Arthur Midwinter had so wanted to have in his time (and hence, it’s name). The map opposite was drawn by Arthur Midwinter for the book. In turn, this book refers to the earlier village history written by Edward Rowe Mores in 1780, with a very grand long title. Despite its age, it can be handled and read in Sittingbourne library along with Arthur Midwinter’s book (which can also be bought from the Sittingbourne Heritage Museum). Both books are fascinating but quite old fashioned to read. Hence, the more digestible articles at the top of the page.
