The Angelfish Restaurant - The Angelfish Restaurant
The Angelfish Restaurant description
Pub / Restaurant
Medium (1-150)
If you decide you’d like to escape city life for a while, you can easily find The Angelfish Restaurant on the A36 out of Bath, below the fabulously named Brassknocker Hill. Situated next to the restored Somerset Coal Canal, with easy access and a large car park, the restaurant enjoys panoramic views across the Limpley Stoke Valley. In this historic setting you can watch the narrow boats while enjoying your food.
Choose to sit outside on the terrace, or inside where the vibe is more informal. The whole restaurant is surrounded by glass, allowing a clear view and making the atmosphere feel light, fresh and warm – even on a winter’s day.
Chef and owners Lionel and Victoria excel in their partnership, bringing their wealth of world-travelled experience to this lovely spot. The choice of menus is informal, enticing and varied. The fixed options menu ranges from snacks and freshly cooked baguettes with unusual fillings, to more substantial meals and a specials board that changes daily.
There is a selection of homemade desserts, cakes and ice creams.
We cater for everyone such as families on a day out, holidaymakers, visitors to the site, ramblers, cyclists, boaters, dog owners, coach parties and many private functions. Although we are not regularly open every evening we open for private functions of 25 or more where you are able to have the whole restaurant to yourselves. We offer set menus, buffets, bbq’s and Christmas meals etc.
We also have an outside catering service ‘ Gourmet Delicious” that caters for many private functions at customers choice of venue whether it be a marquee at home or a local village hall. Feel free to ask us for quotes, advice or ideas about a future event. We have experience of many weddings, banquets, anniversaries, birthdays and corporate entertainment. We currently do all the catering for the ‘Jubilee’ narrowboat situated near the Angelfish which is run by the Kennet & Avon Canal Trust and also ‘The John Rennie’ Restaurant boat which is operated by Bath Narrowboats from Bathwick Hill in Bath. Both have different menus for different occasions.
There is magic here for everyone, from cream tea with organic clotted cream to a cappuccino coffee break, ‘let’s do lunch’ occasion or a private party. And, if you like what you’ve tried, why not book their outside catering company Gourmet Delicious for your wedding, business event or birthday celebration.
