πŸ₯³ Our Year 11 students are heading off today for their 3-day Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award Expedition! To achieve the Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award, they must volunteer in their community, engage in physical activities, develop a skill, and complete a 3-day expedition involving hiking and camping. 🀩 The late Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, started the Duke of Edinburgh's Award in 1956. He established the award to encourage young people to develop skills, physical fitness, leadership, and community service, aiming to promote personal growth and self-reliance in young people. The D of E Awards teach young people many skills; Resilience, teamwork, kindness, resourcefulness and determination to name but a few! Good luck to all participating, we hope you have a fantastic three days! πŸŽ‰

Last week our Y5 pupils had the time of their lives at the fantastic Robinwood based at Dobroyd Castle in Todmordon. They completed 15 different activities over three days, including: Giant swing πŸͺ’ Canoeing πŸ›Ά Zip wiring 🫣 Raft building πŸ”¨ Archery 🏹 Caving πŸ₯Ύ Rock climbing πŸ§— They also completed many escape rooms including Pirahna Pool, Escape the Dungeon and Knights Quest πŸƒ The children did really well and pushed themselves out of their comfort zones and into their learning zones. Some children even managed to overcome their fears! πŸ™Œ ⭐The children did us proud with their can-do attitudes, teamwork, and great behaviour both on the long journeys and during the stay. They really are a credit to the school ⭐ With brilliant school excursions taking place throughout the year across all year groups, Tranby pupils have boundless opportunities to reach their potential both in the classroom and out. Saturday the 18th of May Under the expert direction of our Director of Music, Mrs Cook, 31 Tranby students from Years 6-12 presented a recital of solo, duo and small ensemble pieces at Hull Minster, as part of the Vox Trinitas Summer Recital Series. From harps to electric guitars, Mozart to Wheezer, our musicians performed beautifully, representing the school impeccably and showcasing the very best of what it means to be part of the Tranby family. We are so proud of you all! The recital coincided beautifully with the History of Hull Grammar School display erected by our Head of History, Mrs Rayns and her Y12 history class. Feedback from the audience was extremely positive with much praise for our talented and dedicated students. We are delighted to say, we have already been invited back next year! It's a huge thank you to all the students and staff involved in making the event such an enormous success!
