Good location, very basic hotel

I chose this hotel for its cental location. It's near the station and shops. The recommended parking at Broad Street Mall is over £16 a day, which adds up if you stay several days at this hotel, like me. That was definitely a down side for me. The bed was comfortable. The room was advertised as brand new but it surely didn't look it. Stains on the carpet and the bathroom cabin wasn't clean (black stuff between the connecting panels in shower cabin down the bottom). Bad smell from shower drain. Also a mini fridge would have been nice to keep my beverages and food cool during my stay. Hairdryer broke mid-use but reception was able to supply me with another one quickly. All in all an ok stay for the price but would have expected a bit more.

Had to move rooms because toilet kept running. Staff were great and handled it very efficiently. Keycards often didn't work and had to be reprorgrammed. Many other guests had the same problem
