The Thornhill Inn is situated in the beautiful conservation village of Thornhill, formerly the George Hotel set in the varied landscape of Mid-Nithsdale area of Dumfries and Galloway, Thornhill is only 1 hours drive from Glasgow Airport and 1 hour and 20 min from Edinburgh Airport.

Gold panning is available in the Leadhills in and around Wanlockhead. Regular courses are run during the summer months.
