There has never been a better time to visit Newcastle with all the uncertainty over flight cancellations and delays, tourist taxes and increased Euro costs so why not ditch visiting the EU 'abyss', stay in the UK and visit Newcastle (that special place in heaven!!).

Newcastle has plenty to offer with a rich history, cultural, food and entertainment scene and is recognised as being the party capital of the UK and one of the top party cities of the world.

is Pubs Newcastle's pub/bar of the month for May 2024.

The County is an traditional Newcastle pub dating back to 1826 and is located on Gosforth High Street.

Open Monday - Saturday from 11am - 11pm, Sunday 11am - 10.30pm.

The bar serves an excellent range of keg beers and cask ales which are rotated regularly.

This Grade 2 listed building still retains many of its original features and offers a reasonably priced pizza menu.

A small outside seating area is located to the side of the pub.

With the excellent range of cask ales and keg beers on offer it is a must visit if you are in the Gosforth area.

The bar was formerly known as Quilted Camel and opened March 2024.

Open every Friday from 2pm - late, Saturday from 12pm - late, Sunday 2pm - 10pm.

The bar has several drinks ofers available.

A DJ is on play on all night with live music on certain nights.

New Tiki bar from the owners of No28 bar located close to the outside the Grainger Market on Nelson Street.

Open Monday - Thursday 5pm - 3am, Friday - Sunday 12pm - 3am.

The bar offers food options including bottomless brunch menu.

A DJ is on play on most nights until 3am.

New York themed cocktail bar located close to the Central Station in what used to be the Allied Irish Bank building is now open.

Open Sunday - Wednesday 12pm - 12am, Thursday & Friday 12pm - 1am, Saturday 11am - 1am.

The bar offers luxury drinking and food options including 2 for 1 cocktails and a two-hour bottomless brunch.

A new small cocktail bar located close to the Central Station in what used to be the old ticket office is now open.

Open Monday - Thursday 4pm - 1am, Friday & Saturday 12pm - 2am, Sunday 12pm - 1am.

The bar was formerly known as North, Science and more recently Zerox.

A DJ is on play on most nights.

in the Big Market area is a historical pub in the Bigg Market with be re-opening in 2024.

The Malhotra group are currently undertaking work to restore this historical bar back to it's former self.

Many of the old historical features which date back to the 1820's will be retained.

The bar was formerly known as the Wheatsheaf in the 1820's and was later named the Cartlon before it was changed to Balmbras after the famous Blaydon Races.

A new Cafe cocktail and Spritz bar located on the Grey Street in the City Centre opened on 25th August 2023.

Open Tuesday - Thursday 2pm - 11pm, Friday 2pm - 12am, Saturday 12pm - 12am, Sunday 12pm - 11pm, Closed Monday.

The bar was formerly known as Dacanthus and has been given a full makeover.

A large outside seating area is located to the front of the bar.

A new Newcastle themed pub located in the Central Station area opened on 7th July 2023.

Open every day from 12pm until late.

The pub was formerly known as The Star Inn.

A new Irish themed pub located on the Quayside opened on 30th June 2023.

Open every day until late.

The pub has occupied the former building that was previously Julies nightclub.

Live sport and live music will be a regular feature as well as a good pint of Guinness.

Another new Irish themed pub located on Collingwood Strret in the Central Station area is now open.

Open Monday – Thursday 5pm - 3am, Friday 3pm - 3am, Saturday & Sunday 12pm – 3am.

The pub has taken up part of the space occupied by Bohemia.

All things Irish will be a regular part of the bar as well as a good pint of Guinness.
