ExcellentBased on 681 reviewsVerifiedzurq2024-04-27Best small hotel in Glasgow. I love this hotel. It's comfortable, quiet, extremely well-managed, and clean. Located within walking distance of the Glasgow Botanic Garden, Beyers Street shopping and entertainment, The Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, and the beautiful Kelvingrove Park, this hidden gem is my favorite in Glasgow. It's on a quiet street that dead-ends at Great Western Road, but every conceivable cuisine and price points are just a short walk away. This affords a great way to avoid taxi travel and a safe environment for travelers. Albion is a comfortable retreat in this fascinating and lively part of Glasgow. I will stay there every time I visit this wonderful city.VerifiedBayble2024-04-26Very pleasurable In a nice quiet street next to the Kelvin river. Nice clean room with tea coffee facilities and a comfortable bed. What more can you ask for?VerifiedCatherine L2024-04-26great place to stay with helpful staff, nice rooms and good location Very welcoming and accommodating staff who were super helpful with a number of requests. Very good location on quiet street across from the river and a few minutes walk to a street with lots of shops and restaurants. Room very clean and comfortable. Delicious breakfast-part buffet and part made to order hot. Good value for money. Highly recommendedVerifiedEconConferenceGoer2024-04-23Love it! Wonderful hotel! I am scent sensitive and this hotel suited me wonderfully. I'm so happy to have found a safe haven away from home. The room was large and lovely and they did not spray it (a request I made), there were no heavy scents in the room, yet it was fresh and clean. Not only that, but when they were cleaning other rooms, the scents were light and manageable. It was great. Like pretty much every hotel in the UK, the bedding had that slight fruity fragrance, but it was manageable for me, and I felt great after sleeping in the bed. It was very comfortable. The towels were unscented. My room (19 in the Apartments) connected with one other and scents can travel between rooms, as well as noise, but as my friend was staying in the next room it worked out just fine for me. The nights were quiet and peaceful - I did not hear anyone upstairs or outside. The staff at the front desk were just lovely and made everything impressively smooth. Cannot thank them enough! The water pressure in my room was eco friendly, but sufficient for my long thick hair. Room 19 was particularly large, with high ceilings and was elegant like the rest of the building. The location is excellent too. This hotel is right next to a lovely little creek/river, and nearby a super neighbourhood with great restaurants and shops. There is a health food grocery within 5 minutes walk. The subway is also close by. And it is a short walk to the University and a very pretty park. I highly recommend!VerifiedMartina2024-04-23Small, renovated hotel in a quiet location Quiet, very clean rooms, large, beautifully designed bathroom. The double room in the attic is small, but functional and tastefully furnished. The small hotel is located next to a beautiful park, and it is about a 35-minute walk to the center. You can park cheaply in the nearby park-and-ride car park. We didn't think the breakfast was that good. There is no elevator, which didn't bother us.VerifiedRussell M2024-04-12Quality low budget hotel The location is excellent, easy to walk into the west end and very close to a Metro station. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Lack of parking was the only let down. Will definitely use again. We didn't try the breakfast as we used a near bye fabulous deli but it certainly smelt good!VerifiedMark2024-04-02Great west end hotel I always stay at the Albion when in Glasgow as my first choice accommodation and wouldn’t look elsewhere. For the brilliant west end location in Kelvinbridge, comfortable rooms excellent service and friendly team you can’t beat it. Super value for money in Glasgow compared to other chain hotels and well worth it. I look forward to my next stay in the future as a very satisfied repeat Albion guest.VerifiedAndrea S2024-03-28Great for visiting U of G Great location for visiting the University of Glasgow. Hotel is a few mins walk from the subway station which is a 9min ride into Glasgow city centre. Lots of bars, pubs, coffee places and restaurants all within close walking distance from hotel. Bed was comfortable, room and bathroom very clean, although the pillows were lumpy and flat. No gluten free options for breakfast, but lots of places to have breakfast near by. Receptionist very helpful with directions and suggestions for vegetarian restaurants.VerifiedEcosseTravellerNo12024-02-27Perfect Overnight Stay A one night stay in Glasgow's west end for an event and the Albion was perfect! Clean, spacious and had all we wanted. Notably a very comfortable bed! Only complaint would be other guests letting the front door slam shut when leaving but we can hardly blame the hotel for inconsiderate guests. Very conveniently located for the underground.Verifiedbryanj472024-02-20Most enjoyable stay Most enjoyable stay. Diane on reception was very welcoming and helpful. My room was warm, the shower great, the breakfast plentiful. The hotel is SO close to the underground. Plenty of choice of cafes and restaurants. I shall stay there again if I possibly can.
ExcellentBased on 336 reviewsRachel Reddick2024-04-19Stayed at the Albion for about a week and a half. Everything was great! We could only hear other guests when they were in the hallway outside of our room. Everything was clean and tidy, and the staff was friendly and helpful. It's a wonderful location to go wandering around the city. A subway stop is about a block and a half away. Plenty of great food around and several museums and points of interest are within reasonable walking distance.wispy woodsman2024-04-15Very fair price, convenient location and staff very helpful. Notably good shower facilities, too.Nik Gittins2024-04-10I was only in town for one night for a concert (Emperor at the Barrowlands - amazing, if anyone is interested) and the hotel was perfect for what I needed. Well located next to a subway station which had a "park and ride" deal which meant my overnight parking and return subway to the city centre cost a grand total of about a tenner. Also in walking distance of decent bars and a cracking mid-east take-away (perfect at the end of the night after a long drive and a great gig). The room was really nice, clean and tidy with everything you might need. The shower pressure and temp. were easy to sort out but I don't liked fixed shower heads - just my preference. Breakfast was reasonably priced, decent coffee and a great cooked breakfast with other options also available. Marlene who was working when I arrived and dealt with my breakfast, was really friendly and helpful - the right balance of attentive without being intrusive. All in all a great little hotel and somewhere I will absolutely visit again if I'm back in Glasgow.Mo Anderson2024-04-09Excellent hotel in an ideal location right next to the subway. Lovely clean rooms, great breakfast and staff are so nice. Could not do enough for you. This was our 2nd stay here and would definitely use again. Highly recommended.Brian Elliott2024-04-05Comfy bed, ideal location for needs and Diane runs things very wellJason Perry2024-04-03I had two issues with the hotel/room (see below). However, I want it to be read last, after I say how good this room was. The beds were very comfortable (not something I've found in a lot of European hotels; yes, I am a spoiled American). The room looked very nice, in both design and cleanliness. The service was incredible, and the breakfast was delicious. Overall, this was a great hotel. The only negative issue I had with the hotel is that it has no elevator. My wife is disabled, so that made going to and from the room an issue. The only negative issue I had with the room is that I had an issue with the pipes; the toilet messed up (a very minor leak, and had issues flushing). However, before this was completely fixed, the shower started messing up, and had issues getting cold water to it (so my assumption is that it was the pipes)... this happened the day before I left, so it did not see it fixed. Again, this was very minor, and I'm betting it was fixed within 24 to 48 hours of me reporting it. Everything else was awesome. I really enjoyed this hotel, and will probably stay there again if I get to go back!Olivia Snow2024-03-27Loved the location—so many great restaurants and local shops close to the university. The room was a bit drafty, but comfortable enough. We were not given much information upon checkin, such as the fact that breakfast was something we could sit down and order a warm meal for, so we missed out on that! But I would likely stay here again if back in Glasgow.
