A warm friendly atmosphere welcomes you to The Woodlands Bed & Breakfast. A former farmhouse set in three acres of paddocks and gardens. Accommodation is in beautifully converted ground floor outbuildings. We specialise in catering for people who are working away from home and offer early breakfast times, packed breakfast/lunches, evening meals, WiFi, ample car parking and your own “front door” so that you can come and go as you please.
We are sure that your stay here will be an enjoyable and a relaxing experience that you will want to repeat.

The Woodlands B&B
The Woodlands has five rooms of which four are en suite. Two of the twin rooms have a shared bathroom ideal for families. The price is £50 per person per night or £80 for two people sharing a room. The family room costs £120 per night for two adults and two children. All prices are inclusive of breakfast.
Our breakfast menu uses local produce where possible and is cooked to perfection. Vegetarians and vegans can be catered for.
Evening meals are a speciality. Choose from our three course Evening Dinner menu or our Quick Bites menu. Special diets are catered for. Packed lunches are available on request.
All meals are served in our garden kitchen and afterwards you can relax in our spacious conservatory overlooking the garden and paddock.

The Woodlands is a bed & breakfast situated in a secluded rural area close to the picturesque city of Ely with its magnificent cathedral and bustling market just 4 miles away. The university city of Cambridge is 12 miles. Thetford forest, ideal for walking or cycling is a 30 minute drive. Newmarket with its racecourse, is 20 minutes and the Norfolk coast is approximately 50 minutes. The Woodlands is easily accessible from the A10 by car or from Ely railway station. We offer a free pick up service from the railway station. We are sure that your stay here will be enjoyable and a relaxing experience that you will want to repeat.

Relax in a friendly country atmosphere and unwind from either a busy business meeting or family day out. For those who are interested, there is an abundance of wildlife and a wide variety of animals and birds can be spotted including our resident donkeys.

“Very nice B&B. I initially booked one night and stayed for a second because the hosts and rooms were so welcoming. The rooms are comfortable and the full English Breakfast can’t be beat. Sean will even prepare an evening meal upon request. I especially enjoyed chatting with Sean and feeding the donkeys. I will definitely stay at The Woodlands the next time I visit England.”

“Sad to say we just stayed one night here on the way to Cambridge, a lovely welcoming farmhouse set in lovely surroundings. We stayed in the chalets, very spacious and clean with everything you need, plenty of tea and coffee. Breakfast was delicious cooked to order sat around a huge table in the farmhouse. Sean was a great host, nothing too much trouble, and one very busy man, don’t know how he does it!. Highly recommended, loved the donkeys too.”
“We stayed here with friends for 2 nights so we could visit the cathedral and other attractions in Ely. Sean is a great host, making us very welcome with a cup of tea on arrival. He has a great welcoming attitude which is wonderful and so appreciated. The breakfast is great with lots of choices and on the second night we were offered dinner at a very appealing rate. The rooms are clean, good en suite bathrooms and lovely location. It is off the beaten track and down a dirt track which can be decidedly bumpy but well worth the trip, being not far out of Ely itself. This place deserves more than 100% recommendation!”
